Personal Data I was born in Vienna, Austria on 11th July 1994. My parents Lizi and Cyriac Cherukad are from India. I have a younger brother named Sajan. I am a 7th Standard student at the Vienna Bilingual School. I speak English, German and Malayalam. My hobbies are Music, Dancing, Drawing and playing the Keyboard. Music I started developing my musical talent at the age of five. When I talk about my musical talent, I would like to thank my father Cyriac Cherukad, whose contributions are tremendous in bringing me to the state what I am now. After learning basic lessons of Karnatic Music, I continued learning karnatic classical music for two years in Balakairali School under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Johnson. I still continue to take further lessons of karnatic classical music from time to time when I go for holidays to India. I always get the guidance from my father. I have participated in many musical events and stage programmes in Europe along with my father - who is also a well known singer in Karnatic Classical Music and film music. I wish to mention some of the major following stage programmes in Europe in which I have participated along with my father: Programmes of Kerala Mela in Munster Germany (held every year) Stage programmes of Deutsch-Malayalee Meet Germany (held every year) Musical night (Ganamela) and Onam programme of Kerala Samajam which was held in Frankfurt, Germany in 2004 Musical night (Ganamela) and Onam celebrations of Navodaya Association, which was held in Gross Gerau, Germany in 2005 A fund raising cultural programme conducted by the Breitenbach Dioceses, Switzerland in 2004 for Tsunami Victims A music (Ganamela) and dance cultural evening conducted by the dioceses of St. Gallen, Switzerland in 2004 Apart from the above, I participated in many family event programmes on the occasion of wedding anniversaries, birthday celebrations, etc. in Austria as well as in Germany and Switzerland. I am also continuously participating in the competitions in Austria (ICC Youth festival) and in the Keli International Kala Mela, Switzerland and have won many prizes in different levels. If interested, I can be contacted for programmes at e-mail: c.cherukad@iaea.org; Tel: (0043 1) 774 73 01. I sang a song entitled “Swargeeyathathente Makkal” in the Classical Christian Devotional Album of “Swargeeyanadam”, which is the 3rd Christian Devotional album of my father. It was really a milestone achievement in my musical career. The Swargeeyanatham album was very well accepted and appreciated by many Christians and non-Christian Malayalees in USA, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Many people appreciated the song I sang in the album. I always thank God who has given me a good voice. I am confident now that I can sing with any Orchestra troop as a female singer with the experience I have gained with my father. Dance I started learning cinematic dancing at the age of six under the guidance of the renowned dance teacher, Ms. Neha Kapdi in the Balakairali School in Vienna. At the age of eight I started learning Bharathanatyam under the guidance of well-known dance teacher, Kalatharangini Mrs. Mary John. Later, I studied Kuchipodi and Mohiniyattam as well under Mrs. Mary John. I extend my sincere thanks to both Ms. Neha Kapdi and Mrs. Mary John, who have identified and promoted my talent in Dancing. I can now confidently perform Bharathanatyam, Kuchipodi, Mohiniyattam, Cinematic Dance and Nadoodinrythem. I am also continuously participating in the competitions in Austria (ICC Youth festival) and in Switzerland (in Keli International Kala Mela) and have won many prizes in Dance competitions at different levels. I have also participated and performed dances in the aforementioned stage programmes. Besides music and dancing, I also play the keyboard and use my free time for drawing. I take this opportunity to thank my mother, who has encouraged and helped me a lot in developing my talents. My desire I would like to become a playback singer as well as a renowned classical dancer; however, priority number one is my studies. Choooossss |
