I am 12 years old, born in Vienna and attending the 7th standard High School. My dancing lessons started in Balakairali, Vienna, at the age of 6. Under the guidance of the talented teacher Mrs. Neha Kapadi I learned the basics of Cinematic and Kathak. During my holidays in summer 2002 in Kerala I received the first lessons in the South Indian Classical Dance, Bharata Natyam from one of Kerala’s well known exponents of Bharata Natyam, Mr. Raghavankutty. Since then I am learning Bharatanatyam, Kuchupudi and Nadodi Nrutham from Kalatharangini Mrs. Mary John and other teachers from India and Austria. I am also an active student of European Classical Ballet Dance since 2004. Events, which I cherish in my mind: My public performance started in the year 2002. Right at the outset I won the first prize for Cinematic singles at the Youth Festival conducted by Kairaly Nikethan, Vienna. Since then I have won prizes in different competitions. I perform regularly before Malayalee, Indian and Austrian audience. It is an unforgettable event in my life as I got a chance to dance with my school collegues before the President of Austria, Dr. Heinz Fischer, and other distinguished guests on the Golden Jubilee celebration of the famous Vienna Opera Ball in the 250 th Mozart year 2006 which was live telecasted in the Austrian Television. Another exciting moment was when the first prize for Classical Dance (juniors) was awarded to me at the Keli International Kala Mela 2006, in Zurich. My Ambition is to become a professional Dancer. I wish more boys living outside India learn the Indian Classical Dances. My sincere thanks to all my teachers, especially to Kalatharangini Mrs. Mary John for her careful training and support. I am extremely grateful to my parents for their untiring efforts to promote my talents. A special thanks to Late Mr. John Kavanal for encouraging me through his media coverage
