MALAYALEES PRIDE IN EUROPE

Through this page we hope to share with our Malayalee community the talents that lay hidden among us. We also hope that through our site many of our organisations, associations, faith centres would identify these European Malayalee talents and give them an opportunity to perform during their events.

Tissy Vellappally is 23 years old and currently studying german and philosophy at the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. Since the age of 8, she is a scholar of Bharathanatyam. Trained by Kalamandalam Sofi at Lasya Dance Academy, she still is perfecting her artistic skills in Kerala, India on regular basis.

With her “Lasya” Project Tissy Vellappally shows us how the Indian Classical Dance combined with the aggressive Sound of Drum’n’Bass, is overcoming the cultural differences by emphasising the musical aspects both genres have in common.
